View Marine Fish Compatibility Chart Captive-Bred Maroon White Lightning Clownfish. Typical specimens showcase a varied/splotchy white striping pattern that resembles a lightning strike. Captive-Bred Clownfish are among the most hardy fish in marine aquaria and are easy for the beginner but also beloved by the advanced. Maroon Clownfish are the most territorial and aggressive of all the clownfish species. It is recommended that you only keep one maroon clownfish in your tank. Maroon Clownfish may be particularly sensitive to copper and treatment with copper should be done with caution. The largest of a pair of clownfish will typically be the Female, as these are the dominant sex. Clownfish are sexless at birth and will develop into either male or female based on the conditions of their environment. Again, the largest and most dominant will become the female. The diet should consist of varied vitamin enriched meaty foods along with various algae and plankton. A large portion of a clownfish diet in the wild consists of Marine Phytoplankton, which makes an excellent live feed for all of your Fish, Corals and other invertebrates. |
