The Skunk Cleaner Shrimp can also be known as the Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp or Pacific Cleaner Shrimp. They feature a central white stripe with a red stripe on either side from the head to the base of the tail, large white antennae, and 5 white markings on the tail. They are great for any aquarium and have a symbiotic relationship with the fish in the aquarium, eating parasites and dead tissue from them. They even help with wounds on fish and aid in healing and prevent infection. Invertebrates can be more sensitive to parameter changes than fish or coral. High nitrate levels or sudden changes in pH or Salinity can be very harmful to inverts and may cause death. It is recommended to do a slow acclimation process when adding new inverts to your aquarium. |
