View Marine Fish Compatibility Chart An absolutely striking coloration and unique shape make this fish one of the most popular in the marine trade. The Firefish Goby, also known as the Fire Goby or Magnificent Dartfish would be an excellent addition to any community reef tank. A peaceful fish, many hobbyists have also come to love them for their curious personality. Although skittish at first the Magnificent Dartfish will become more comfortable in a community aquarium over time. The Firefish Goby requires numerous safe zones such as rocky ledges or caves with where in it can hide. Due to it's skittish nature, this fish can be startled into jumping. For this reason we recommend the use of a lid over the aquarium. As a non-aggressive member of the Gobiidae family, the Firefish Goby is generally only aggressive towards members of it's own species although a mated pair can safely be housed together. As with most marine fish species, amount of available space and territories play a role in how many conspecifics can be successfully kept. |
