Coral Expanders are 2.2mm thick which is still very thin but not as thin as the Coral Mounts. They can still be cut fairly easily with scissors but not quite as easily. They can still be cut on a band-saw but not quite as easily. Recommended for soft coral expansion. Example usage: First you mount a small Zoa or other soft-coral frag to a 1" coral mount and let it grow to the edges, when it gets to the edges, you twist lock the 1" mount off it's stem and onto these expanders and let the grow out continue. Once the Zoa Grows onto the expander you can twist-remove the 1" Coral Mount and place it on a new grow out or possibly just sell it. You can then put an empty coral mount back in its place and the coral will re-grow onto the mount!
